The Big Boy All-Weather lever action rifle made by Henry Repeating Arms won the "Coolest Thing Made in Wisconsin" competition in a contestant pool of more than 150 different products and companies.
The competition was organized by Wisconsin Manufacturers & Commerce.
The Big Boy All-Weather is manufactured in Rice Lake, Wisconsin. After being nominated in early 2019, it advanced through four rounds of popular votes. More than 30,000 votes were cast in the last round. The rifle, available in .44 Magnum, .357 Magnum and .45 Colt, is a popular choice for hunters that need a firearm that is less susceptible to harsh environmental conditions.
“It is incredible to see the diversity of products manufactured here in this state, and we are proud to call Wisconsin home.” said Dan Clayton-Luce, Communications Director of Henry Repeating Arms during Henry’s acceptance speech. “We would like to thank all of the more than 500 Henry employees from our Rice Lake facility and Bayonne, New Jersey, facility for being so dedicated to putting out a quality product every day.”
Henry’s Wisconsin manufacturing facility has more than 100,000 square feet and is managed by Henry Vice President and General Manager Andy Wickstrom. The facility is responsible for about half of Henry’s product line, which encompasses more than 200 different rifle and shotguns.
“This is a very exciting win for us,” says Anthony Imperato, President and Owner of Henry Repeating Arms. “We take so much pride in 'Made in America' and it’s clear that our fans and customers appreciate it just as much as we do. I would like to thank everyone who took the time to vote for us.”
About the Big Boy All-Weather
Henry Repeating Arms introduced the All-Weather lever action rifle in 2016 in .30-30 and .45-70, two of the most legendary calibers and still among the most popular among hunters.
The rifle was a hit, so Henry took it to the next step and created the Big Boy All-Weather for those who might want to carry one caliber in long gun and handgun. The Big Boy All-Weather in the same three basic handgun calibers, and the same 20-inch round barrel. It's lighter than the hardened-brass Big Boys with octagon barrels, but has the same adjustable sights, magazine capacities, magazine tube loading capability and other features.
The rifle is available in .44 Mag/Spl, .45 Colt and .357 Mag/.38 Spl.
