Texas-based CMC Triggers is a family-owned and operated business that began with the idea to manufacture the industry’s first “drop-in” trigger. 

The company’s principals already had years of experience in aerospace manufacturing when CMC was established in 2003 around a core of strong company values.

We recently caught up with Jack Biegel, president and owner of CMC Triggers. Biegel has 49 years of experience in manufacturing with a background covering the aerospace, oilfield and medical industries. He has been the owner of CMC for the past 14 years.


SSR: Can you talk a little bit about your history with the company?

Biegel: My Wife and I bought the company from Chip McCormick in 2012 and have been manufacturing firearm accessories ever since. CMC continues to bring new product lines to our customers, and we back everything we build with a 100% lifetime warranty.


SSR: You make the original drop-in AR trigger. Does being the original make it better?

Biegel: We think so. We make our triggers safer than our competition through stronger geometry.


SSR: Can you explain what goes into designing a great trigger?

Biegel: Understanding what the customer wants and needs is first. Then enhancing the design as we engineer and innovate the new Trigger.


SSR: What’s your No. 1 best seller?

Biegel: Our Flat 3-½-pound Drop-In


SSR: What separates CMC from all the other companies vying for space on retailer’s shelves?

Biegel: Our No. 1 priority is to take care of our customers. No matter what the situation might be, we are going to take care of the customer above and beyond profit. We completely understand that our customer always has a choice to purchase another competitor’s product, but no other company takes better care of those that purchase our products.


SSR: To what type of shooter would you recommend going with a two-stage trigger?

Biegel: Anyone. It’s really about personal preference in the end.


SSR: What do you think retailers need to know to sell more aftermarket triggers?

Biegel: The word is “To get the most accurate rifle, replace the factory trigger first, then add an exceptional Optic.” We think adding any of our Drop-In Triggers gives the shooter the very best chance at perfect accuracy!


SSR: You make more than triggers. Tell me about your lineup of aftermarket parts for Glock pistols.

Biegel: We make a full line of Triggers for most Glock Pistols. I made the decision when we first started to utilize OEM Glock components attached to our trigger and safety only.

Additionally, we build a very nice aftermarket slide as well. It’s called the Kragos line.


SSR: What other product lines have you excited about the future? Are you looking to expand your offerings?

Biegel: We’re just out with a couple of new products. A full line of Buffer Tube Kits (that we manufacture in-house) are in stock and available now. We are manufacturing a full line of Wedge-Lock Hand Rails for AR and are about to release those as soon as the packaging is ready. We have multiple other products being worked on at this time and will be ready for a Shot Show release.


SSR: Beyond manufacturing and selling equipment, how does Legacy support the shooting sports?

Biegel: I believe that we, as a legacy company are the most trustworthy. Our ability to continue to stand through these very difficult economic times will make our customers feel confident and will continue to buy from us and others.


SSR: What does a retailer need to do to begin carrying CMC products in their stores? Are there any dealer incentives or programs for new partners?

Biegel: Give Bennie Stubblefield, our sales manager, a call and he’ll get everything set up. We have very nice dealer incentives and programs!
